There are some situations in Golf when the player has to drop a ball. (In Real golf den by letting the ball fall to the ground from the lvl of your shoulders.) :

a: when following the "water-hazard" rule. Counting 1 stroke penalty the player can choose to:
a0: replay a ball from last position
a1: drop a ball on the line pin -> entry point backwards as far as desired.
a2: (lateral water only) drop a ball within 2 clublength from the entry point not nearer to the pin. (falsly implemented for every waterhazard in GS)
a3: (lateral water only) drop a ball within 2 clublength of the point opposite to the entrypoint, not nearer to the pin. (not implemented in GS)

b: takeing reliefe from an obstacle (not implemented in GS). The player can choose to:
b0: replay a ball from last position.
b1: drop a ball on the line pin -> ball as far back as desired.
b2: drop a ball within 2 clublength from the point of reliefe, not nearer to the pin.

c: after having declared a ball as unplayable.
c0: replay a ball from last position.
c1: drop a ball on the line pin -> ball as far back as desired.
c2: drop a ball within 2 clublength from the ball, not nearer to the pin.

To use these drops in GS click on the Drop-button (rightmost just above wind indicator).
click on "Return" for variants a0 and c0 (back to last position)
click the "dot in then circle" for a1 and c1 and use up and down arrows to move the dropspot on the line. click the "dot-circle" again to execute the drop.
click on 2club for a2 (non ruleconform) and c2. click a spot in then circle-segment and then "dot-circle" to drop the ball.
