Can anyone give a bit of detailed explanation on how to use the various OB drop functions as I am a bit dim and have not worked out how this is supposed to function

Drop Options

Real Golf
in the Realgame there are 3 Situations when a ball can/has to be dropped:

1: Ball ends in a Water hazard
If the ball ends in any water-hazard the player can:
1.1: play the ball as it lies, without any penalty or
1.2: with 1 penalty stroke, return to the postition where the ball was played from or
1.3: with 1 penalty stroke, drop a ball on the line from the pin over the point where the ball entered the water-hazard, not nearer to the pin.
and additionaly when the ball enters a lateral water-hazard (red stakes or lines) the player may by counting 1 penalty stroke
1.4: drop a ball within 2 clublength from the point where the ball entered the water-hazerd (not nearer to the pin) and
1.5: drop a ball within 2 clublength from the point opposite the entrypoint (not nearer to the pin)

2: Player declares the Ball unplayable
The player decides that he can not play the ball from where it lies. By counting 1 penalty stroke he can:
2.1: drop a ball within 2 clublength from the original balls position, not nearer to the pin or
2.2: drop a ball on the line from the pin thru the balls postition any further from the pin then wat it was or
2.3: return to the spot from where he played the ball before.
Rem: if the unplayble ball lies in a bunker, the player is not allowed to leave the bunker.

3: Ball ends in the O.B.
This is not a drop. The ball has to be replayed from where it was before the shot and the player has to take 1 penalty stroke.

Remark for Golfstars Water-hazard.
There is no lateral water-hazards in GS, so only versions 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 apply.

Ingame handling of these rules:
When clicking the "+1" flag (above the wind indicator) the following happens:
- 1 penalty stroke is added (except when it sayed "Water-Hazard" before, then the penalty was allready counted)
- a menu pops up giving 4 possibilities.
- "dot" (left option) allowes to move de droppoint back on the line using the downarrow key.
- "2clubs" allowes to move the drop point within 2 clublength using the arrow keys.
- "return" goes back to where the ball was played from.
- "X" accept the programms drop proposition.
- when done with placing your ball click the "dot" spot to activate it.

Situations not conforming to the Golfrules:
Water-hazard:
- sometimes it does not take the proper entry point as a referenz.
- options for lateral water-hazards are missing.
Unplayable ball in a bunker:
- the drop can be taken outside the bunker.
